Rubbish clean up recount
Today I would have never expected this to happen. A recount and rubbish pick up. It’s ok because we are looking after our school/community. So for me it’s good and it’s bad at the same time because we are looking after our school/community and we had to write a recount.
In the beginning we had a chat with Mr Goodwin. He told us that we were going to write a recount, I thought didn’t want to write a recount. After Mr Goodwin had his chat he told us to go outside and line up. We lined up and headed to the to the reserve.
Once we got to the reserve Mr Goodwin told us to get into groups of 5 & 6. The people in my group were Lillyana, Inga, Me, Hope, Jeddia and Roshaan. The cold grass on my feet made my feet freeze and go numb.
There were about 5 teams ,once we got into teams. Mr Goodwin told us the rules, we also had boundaries. Boundaries were two poles if we went past the poles we were disqualified and if we got grass or bark in our rubbish bags we were also disqualified. My team went past the poles but we didn’t get disqualified, this was for us to clean up our school/community and for the recount. The reserve was so clean there was not much rubbish. So we moved around the reserve for a couple of rounds then we had two finale rounds they were in our school’s fields and parks.
After the rubbish picking up Miss Haare judged how much rubbish was in the bag and how much it looked. She found a really big piece of bark in my groups bag so we didn’t win if we won our prize would of been 10 mins ofl cool is cool maths games anytime of day. Toby and his group won, he is a boy in my class. I was sad and happy, because we did it for a good cause which was keeping our school/community clean, and sad because we didn’t win.
I would recommend this to people who want to clean up there school/community a bit more. I think that this experience was a good thing to do because it’s really important to help your school/community everyday. I hope you try this!

Hey Amira, this is a great recount. I think you may have not published it properly because the words go right across the screen past the border. Something to check before your next post. Nice to see you being a tidy kiwi. Looking forward to your next piece of work.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr Dow, thank you for reminding me. I didn't notice that but, thank you for telling me that. I have edited it so that you can read it properly. Thanks very much!
